Tracey Cooley humbly took the role of executive director at Sparrow Freedom Project in April of 2021. Using her legal training as a human rights attorney and passion for serving, Tracey is dedicated to helping combat exploitation and human trafficking for all individuals locally, nationally, and globally.
Tracey has more than 27 years of experience advocating for those in need through employment, leadership positions, board
positions and volunteering with such organizations as Sparrow Freedom Project, Kevelighan & Kevelighan PC, Hope Against Trafficking, Leadership Oakland, Desert Angels, Junior League of Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills Schools and Rochester Community Schools. She is considered a Master Global Champion in Diversity
and Inclusion and a graduate of the Institute of Healing Racism.
Tracey earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy, School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts, Magna Cum Laude with Honors in Public Affairs and French from Columbia College in South Carolina.
Section Leader - Trafficking Unit, Assistant Prosecutor Oakland County Prosecutor's Office

Cynthia Brown has been an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney at the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office for about 23 years. She has worked in the Child Sexual Assault Unit, Drug Unit, Circuit Court Division, and Special Victims’ Unit (where she was assigned to review warrant requests for human trafficking cases and handle the prosecution of those as well). When Karen McDonald took office in January 2021, she recognized the interplay between drug trafficking and human trafficking. Consequently, she began the Trafficking Unit. This specialized unit, comprised of 4 Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys, a paralegal, and an investigator, handles human and drug trafficking cases. Cynthia has been the chief of that unit since April 2021.
FBI Victim Specialist, Detroit Field Office

Melissa Madonna Novock is currently a Victim Specialist with the FBI (Detroit). She primarily works with the VCAC squad (Violent Crimes Against Children) and handles human trafficking cases across southeastern Michigan. Her history of working with survivors of human trafficking spans over two decades covering both Detroit and New York City. Her experience includes working within the criminal justice, legal, and health care systems along with NGO’s. She is a graduate of Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, and the University of Detroit Law School. Her true teachers are the survivors she is privileged to work with every day where she allows the lessons learned to light the way for healing and change.
Speaker, Writer and Founder of "The Dark Side of the Web" Seminars

Kevin is the founder of “The Dark Side of the Web” seminars and has been educating parents across the country on how to protect their children from Internet dangers for nearly 20 years. He is a speaker, writer, and Internet researcher. Kevin speaks at conferences, churches, public and private schools and tackles topics such as the dangers of porn, sexting, and cyberbullying. He has also shared his passion on how to keep kids safe online on numerous radio programs. His articles on Internet safety can be found on websites such as XXXChurch.com and EveryMansBattle.com.
Kevin lives in Michigan with his wife and their 3 children.

After overcoming her own trauma, Chrissy has spent nearly a decade, in her relentless pursuit to eradicate human trafficking. Prior to this, she spent more than four years serving children of all ages in some of the most violent areas of Detroit. Chrissy has worked alongside countless non-profits and law enforcement agencies including the Detroit Police Department, Michigan State Police, and the FBI.
Through her strategic leadership skills, she has implemented international outreach and victim protection/extraction in five different states. Chrissy’s voice has been heard around the country, as she has strived to educate communities and share her strength with others.
She has been published in the Detroit News and interviewed by multiple television and radio stations, as a subject matter expert.
