Based in South Lyon, Michigan, Sparrow Freedom Project's primary focus is to raise awareness about human trafficking and child exploitation through community events, youth empowerment programs, art-therapy, fundraising, and volunteering. As a community and faith-based organization, our hope is to provide the necessary resources for those looking to educate themselves about the atrocities of modern-day slavery. The purpose of our website is to act as an informational tool, as well as a way to connect with other local organizations in and around our community.
Sparrows are mentioned throughout Scripture, but there is one specific Bible passage that provides a sense of hope for victims and survivors of Human Trafficking. The verse serves as a reminder that they are valuable, loved, and cared for.
"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows."
Sparrows may be small in size, but they symbolize protection, community, creativity, productivity, and hard work. We created our grassroots organization to find others in our community who share the same passion about raising awareness and putting a stop to the human trafficking epidemic. Sparrows derive their power by their strength in numbers, therefore, as a collective voice, we will have a better chance at making a difference if we all work together.
Are you interested in joining our team at Sparrow Freedom Project? Do you enjoy working in a creative and empowering environment? Drop us a line if you're ready to become a part of our team of volunteers. We would love to have you!
