Marcy is a lawyer and mediator who is passionate about leading change, creating awareness about the epidemic of human trafficking, and providing services to survivors of human trafficking. Marcy learned about the Sparrow Freedom Project's vision and mission through her work with survivors and families struggling for protection in family and juvenile court. She is committed to using her legal background, business acumen and creativity to design practical solutions for survivors. Marcy joined the Board in March of 2024.
In 2018, Marcy founded a boutique law firm, Lotus Legal Solutions PLLC in 2018. Her practice focuses on serving as fractional general counsel for growing companies and start-ups and collaboratively resolving complex and high-conflict legal disputes, including family law disputes. Prior to starting Lotus Legal, Marcy served as lead counsel for fifteen years at a Fortune 10 company where she advised the company regarding product liability strategy and negotiations, led the company's appellate practice group, and advised the mobility division of the business. Marcy served for two years as federal law clerk for Judge Nancy Edmunds in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District in Detroit Michigan.
Marcy brings business acumen, creative legal strategies and seasoned negotiation skills to the Sparrow Board. She has extensive experience serving on Boards for mid-size businesses and other non-profit organizations.
In her spare time, Marcy is passionate about spending time with her family and friends, trying new recipes, and reading.
