Dominique is passionate about combating human trafficking and exploitation as she had numerous friends who were trafficked by friends and family members, many who never recovered from their past traumas.
Dominique began her volunteer work over 10 years ago, volunteering with victims of domestic abuse at Genesis III. During that time, she was a Correctional Officer for the Michigan Department of Corrections working with female offenders, many who were victims of abuse at some point in their lives. Dominique predominantly worked with mentally ill offenders, most of which had been sexually abused throughout their upbringing.
In 2015, Dominique was hired by the Federal Bureau of Prisons as a Correctional Officer working with male offenders. She has since changed positions and is now a Federal Case Manager assisting offenders with various objectives while helping them prepare themselves for their upcoming re-entry back into society.
Dominique graduated from Oakland Community College with an Associates' Degree in Law Enforcement in 2010, Wayne State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice in 2013, and Michigan State University with a Master's in Criminal Justice in 2020.
