After graduating in 1983 from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing, Cheryl Jeffries spent over 25 years in the medical industry selling surgical equipment & disposables for American Convertors, 3M Company, Valleylab/Pfizer & WL Gore. Additionally, she sprinkled stints as a sales trainer and an executive recruiter placing dozens of candidates in sales, marketing & management positions within the medical industry.
In 2004, Cheryl & her husband joyfully adopted their two sons at the ages of 7 & 9. Hoping for work-life balance, Cheryl retired from the medical industry and switched gears to open the Michigan market, as a loan officer for Chicago based JFG Mortgage. After a year, she was recruited by Stratford Funding, where she was a personal loan consultant and radio host of 'Mortgage Matters' on WMUZ (103.5FM) for Stratford Funding.
In 2008, Cheryl officially retired and became a full-time volunteer; spending six years as a Parent Volunteer at University of Detroit Jesuit to spend quality time with her sons. Duties included, Team Mom for football, basketball & lacrosse; Trip Coordinator, Vice President & President of the Music Booster Board and Mothers Club volunteer & event coordinator.
Volunteering blossomed into three new areas: 1. Becoming an AAU Track & Field Coach; 12+ years business manager and high jump coach of the Michigan Mustangs Track Club, 2. 4+ years Co-chair of Missions & Community Outreach Ministry at The Empowerment Church in Southfield and 3. The Junior League of Birmingham; where over a 6 year period; Cheryl led the Community Programs Committee, was a New Member Advisor, conducted the New Member class as Membership Development Chair, volunteered for 2 years on Nominating Committee and served as Recruitment Chair.
